Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Deceptively spacious, with both a long interior corridor with tables and a terrace area close to a canal. Food was overall good, service was normal. I like my soup/cream. Not overly expensive"
"A lovely restaurant in the middle of Venice main island. This restaurant was recommended by a my friend who lives there and he dine there often. This restaurant offers not traditional Italian cuisine and there are excellent alternatives choice in Venice. I stayed in Venice for one week this time. Even though I love seafood, I was getting tired of similar menus. The food was very tasty and maybe bigger portions for a restaurant in the island. Waiters are friendly and kind. Small problem for us was the reservation time. The restaurant has two shifts for evening reservations: at 19:30 or 21:30. Both times were not really standard dinning times for dinner in Italy. Fair prices."
"This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel. We came without reservation and we offered to sit on the shared table. The couscous was delicious, the duck was a little bit tender but good, the dessert was delicious as well. I definitely recommend to have a reservation in order to guarantee the table."
"While showing my dear international friends S and G The Most Serene city in the world, I decided to take them to La Zucca, a well known venetian restaurant which (don't forget!) requires advanced booking most of the time ;) the ambience is flawless: a contemporary style osteria where every detail is highly curated, from the wooden interior design to the menu and the plating. We shared some appetisers and then I ordered a pumpkin flannel with smoked ricotta cheese, butter and sage. Everything was delicious, maybe just the pumpkin and amaretto cake was slightly below my expectations, but I would definitely recommend La Zucca to all those who want to try local delicacies with a veggy twist!"
"I tried the Pumpkin and Mushroom Lasagna, Flan di Zucca, and Aperol. The lasagna was absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. I personally didn’t enjoy the Flan di Zucca that much, and the Aperol was a bit too bitter for my taste. The atmosphere is very cozy and beautiful, with a great vibe overall. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming. It’s an excellent choice for vegetarians, with plenty of interesting options on the menu. Would definitely recommend it, especially for the ambiance and the lasagna"
"Absolutely recommended! Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. The lasagna is especially worth trying (and very tasty), as not many restaurants in Venice offer a vegetarian version. In general, there’s a great selection of vegetarian dishes. There’s no English menu, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s best to make a reservation in advance"
"The waiters were a bit stressed, and were not quite attentive, however they were very nice and accommodating once their attention turned to us. The starters and sides were very good, everything with aubergine was great! I had the rabbit, which was slightly overcooked, but still good. The ossobucco was not great, but also not too bad. Especially if you have vegetarian/vegan people in your group. All in all decent experience!"
"A particularly good Venetian restaurant. Unpretentious, wholesome and good value. The restaurant is well known for its inventive vegetarian food and it does not disappoint. Well worth the trip through the winding alleys to get there."
